JT Knowledge Sharing and Dialogue
JUST SA fosters inclusive dialogue and capacity building across Mpumalanga and South Africa.
JUST SA creates platforms for engagement and dialogue while building capacity through knowledge sharing across Mpumalanga and South Africa. The project connects communities, policymakers and changemakers, facilitating collaborative spaces where stakeholders can engage in constructive dialogue about sustainable economic transformation. Through targeted capacity building initiatives, JUST SA empowers local communities and decision-makers with the tools and networks needed to drive effective change in South Africa's just transition.
Key Activities
JUST SA is developing a just transition podcast to be broadcast on community radio stations in Mpumalanga and potentially other provinces. The podcast aims to improve understanding of the just transition in South Africa, especially in remote Mpumalanga communities, by sharing expert insights and engaging a wide range of stakeholders. Episodes will be produced in English and isiZulu and target a broad audience, including youth, women, disadvantaged groups, the elderly, and rural residents. Content will be delivered through short radio excerpts and adverts. Visit our knowledge portal to listen to the episodes [coming soon].
GIZ, in collaboration with Creative Development and local community members, will implement a communications campaign to address the communication gap that limits awareness of the Just Transition, for inclusive growth. The campaign aims to reach a wide audience through storytelling, advocacy, and meaningful community engagement, with a focus on involving women, youth, and minority groups. Messaging will be clear and accessible to ensure true inclusion. The goal is to empower vulnerable communities to help shape the transition and highlight scalable initiatives that transform communities and drive local change.
