Nangamso Mhlontlo holds a BSc Hons in Environmental Sciences, bringing a background and passion for sustainable development and the promotion of sustainable practices.

Before joining GIZ South Africa, Nangamso worked at the Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment (DFFE) under the Climate Change and Air Quality branch as a Climate Change Adaptation intern. This experience enhanced understanding of the complex challenges communities face in addressing environmental changes and strengthened her skills in developing practical, context-sensitive solutions.

Currently, she works to support project implementation within the JUST SA project implementation towards a decarbonised economy for South Africa. Her work spans multiple sectors, helping to create integrated strategies that promote long-term environmental, social and economic resilience.

Her contributions are especially valuable in fostering collaboration between stakeholders and providing essential support to the project team.
