Christelle Beyers
Senior Technical Advisor
Christelle Beyers brings over 25 years’ experience in the cross-cutting fields of climate change, climate finance and development planning.
She is an astute sustainability facilitator and market development strategist for innovative and tangible sustainability outcomes, including innovative finance measures for climate action.
Ms Beyers joined GIZ in August 2024. She is seconded to the Presidential Climate Commission (PCC) as Senior Technical Advisor: Climate Finance and Capital Markets.
Prior to joining GIZ, Christelle held progressively senior positions with the International Institute for Energy Conservation (IlEC), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), International Finance Corporation (IFC) at the World Bank, Chemonics and the UN Environment Programme (UNEP).
Christelle has a BSc in Town and Regional Planning, as well as an M(Phil) cum laude in Sustainable Development Planning and Management. She further has a keen interest in systems and pattern thinking, as well as environmentally sound infrastructure.
